For consultants:
Consultants need rapid access to their files and client documents wherever they may be working, and often need to share these files with colleagues in different cities or different countries. Sharing knowledge such as document templates, or simply having documents accessible for review by others is a critical part of the job. Email attachments are one way to meet these needs, but email has limitations and results in no permanent storage of the documents. KnowledgeDisk allows you to upload and download files into a "virtual hard drive" on the internet -- that you own and control. Access is from any location and any system that has Internet access (all you need is your password). You could be working from home or on at a client's site and still have access to your documents.
For project teams:
KnowledgeDisk is a fast, simple, and completely accessible solution to knowledge management for project teams. In the past, teams have shared documents via removable media such as floppy disks or by email. This practice works for one or two documents, but is not effective for managing all the files or documents for a project, and for providing access to team members wherever they might be -- in another city or simply at a home office.
KnowledgeDisk is a file management tool that resides on your server with your Internet Service Provider or on an internal domain server. It allows you to create your own project folders, upload and download documents, and send email to your entire team. The key part is this - the system and your documents are accessible to your team from anywhere in the world, at any time, from any standard browser.
Thoughts from a current user of
KnowledgeDisk
"KnowledgeDisk allows us to share files in a similar fashion to Microsoft® Office 2000, but it is easier and
much less expensive to implement. It’s a critical tool for our collaborating
teams.” - Dave Williams, Lucent
