"While most companies know when they need to make serious changes to
stay competitive, few know how to systematically analyze that need and build a strong case
for making the recommended changes. The Prosci Business Case Toolkit is an outstanding
resource to these companies. The format and structure of the business case process is
identified and the tools to build data and substance into that structure is presented in
an easy-to-understand and easy-to-use format. By going through this exercise, the team
will have guaranteed themselves a disciplined and thoughtful analysis that will satisfy
them AND the senior management who must approve the project."

What the toolkit includes:
Business
case template
The business case template is the detailed outline of the business case document your team
will prepare. It contains headings for each major section of the business case. Italicized
prompts at the beginning of each section briefly describe what information the section
should contain and hints on how to best present this information. The enclosed CD-ROM contains the template file for the business case in
MS Word format.
Business case guidelines
The guidelines have the same section headings as the template. However, the guidelines
section contains detailed descriptions regarding what information should be contained in
each part of your business case. These descriptions are supported by examples and a set of
questions to assist your team in gathering the information required to complete the
template.
Cost and benefit analysis worksheet
The cost and benefit worksheet is an in-depth guide for defining and calculating the costs
and benefits of your solution. It contains examples from a number of different types of
projects and provides a methodology for determining what benefits will be derived for your
project. Activity based costing methods are presented for determining the financial
savings associated with your project.
Business case information checklist
The checklist contains a list of the types of information your team should gather or
develop prior to writing the business case.
