What is a toolkit?
Each toolkit contains guidelines and checklists for project
teams for a particular phase of a reengineering project. These toolkits are authored by
industry experts, and include the findings of ProSci's research with companies around the
world. Over the past 4 years, ProSci has engaged more than 700 companies with
reengineering projects underway. These research studies have reached more than 54
countries.
How are the guidelines used?
Each toolkit includes guidelines and processes based on best-practices research
relating to project methodology, communications, and other key success factors. For
example, the project planning toolkit contains step-by-step guidelines for team selection,
consultant selection, project planning and methodology selection, and includes key
findings on what other companies are doing in each area. The reengineering design toolkit
contains step-by-step guidelines for benchmarking, customer and employee data gathering,
technology research, and business process design. The change management toolkit contains
guidelines for managing the transition and working through organizational and
technological change. The business case toolkit contains steps for creating a business
case for change and selling that change to senior managers and project sponsors.
How are the templates used?
The document templates provide a starting point or outline for
key project documentation. When used with the toolkit guidelines, these templates ensure
that project documentation is complete and that key activities in the reengineering
process were completed correctly. The document templates come ready-to-go on a software
diskette for MS Word or Wordperfect.
How are the checklists used?
The checklists ensure that key steps in your project are complete before moving on to
the next phase. Teams can avoid making mistakes and will not forget important steps in the
process. |
